Worth Every Penny!

Just wanted to let anyone who is interested know that my sister and I have just returned from 3 weeks in Manila getting dental work .
Dr Wengee and her wonderful staff provided us with not only brilliant new smiles but also the highest standard of expert care and attention, something I've yet to experience from an Australian dentist!!
Having spent a total of 14 days and countless hours in the dentists chair during my stay - you really want to be confident about the level of care and advice you are given!  I was very, very happy with not only the final result but also the standard of treatment.  It was also a pleasure to meet 7 other very happy Australians in the waiting room during our stay!
We chose to stay just out of Makati City at the Holiday Inn/Robinson's Galleria in Pasig City for our visit.  That decision had it's benefits and drawbacks!
The benefit was that the Hotel was situated above a large shopping mall and Cinema complex meaning that we didn't have to leave the building to shop/eat/entertainment.  This was especially handy at this time of year (their monsoon season) when the weather is very wet, hot and humid.
The drawback was that getting to the Medical Plaza was a 15 minute taxi ride during off peak traffic hours and anything up to 1 and a half hours in peak times - especially if it was wet (which was most of the time) - the streets around Makati City were prone to regular flooding during heavy cyclonic rains - having said that - the taxi's are very cheap. 
A couple of Australians we met at the dental clinic opted to book into hotels for only a couple of days on their arrival - and changed accommodation once they had established a 'feel' for the surrounding area - a good idea I thought.
Shopping in Manila is fantastic - don't think I've ever seen so many shopping malls!  If you want to grab some great bargains - take a taxi to Greenhills.  They have an undercover shopping market there where you can bargain for your purchases.  You can pick up a good quality fake La Coste shirt there for around AUS$7.50! Even clothing in the regular department stores is far cheaper than here - so take an empty suitcase!
Getting any cosmetic work done is also incredibly cheap - as is spoiling yourself with spas, body wraps/scrubs, facials, peels, massages etc etc!
If you are looking to get Laser eye surgery - there is an excellent opthamologist in the same building as the clinic on the 18th floor called AdvancedVision Laser Centre - Dr Edward Uy.
The Filipino people are absolutely wonderful and gave me a new insight into what exceptional customer service really is!
Definitely worth every penny!

Wonderful to see you back and that you are pleased with your new smiles.Sounds like you had a terrific time. I try to explain to people here what real customer service is about, although sometimes I have found it a little overbearing. (Not our clinic,the shops)..Too much customer service? imagine that. 

I'm really interested in how R's eye laser went as I'd like to get my own done. If she would mind letting me know I'd appreciate it.
